Christmas 2012 Message from Fr Philip Gaffney
A word of thanks and appreciation:
Firstly, I would like to thank all who help out in Ardcath, Clonalvy & Curraha Churches during the year. The sacristans, the church cleaners, the altar societies, the altar servers, the readers, Eucharistic Ministers, Collectors, Children’s Liturgy Groups , Baptismal Team and their co-ordinators. I would also like to thank the parish choirs and the children’s choirs, also the choir directors, organists, and musicians. I thank those who advise and assist in the management and the administration of the parish, especially the Parish Pastoral Councils. At our Masses over the Christmas season we remember in a special way all our parishioners who lost a loved one in the past 12 months and we pray for our deceased parishioners. We send our best wishes and congratulations to all the couples who were married during the year. To the boys and girls who were confirmed in March, to the children who received their First Holy Communion in May, and to all who were baptised during 2012.
I wish to thank all involved in our three parish schools -the Principals and their teaching staff and all other staff members; the Boards of Management and Parents Associations; and we wish the very best to all the pupils. A warm welcome to those who are home from abroad and we think too of all our parishioners who are away from home this Christmas and we remember them in our prayers at Christmas. A very sincere thank you to the parishioners who put up our cribs and Christmas trees as well as cleaning and decorating our churches for Christmas. Thanks also to the Parishioners who maintain the church grounds during the year. Finally to all of you, the parishioners, I would like to thank you most sincerely for your kindness, generosity and support during the year and on my own behalf I wish you a very;
Happy and Blessed Christmas and every good wish for the New Year.
