Cemetery Sunday – Curraha: A very special thank you to all those who helped to make our cemeteries tidy for the blessing of the graves and thanks to all those who contributed to our collection in Curraha cemetery. €1005.00 was raised towards the upkeep of our cemeteries. St. Peter’s Castlepollard annual Church gate collection on weekend 18/19th June amounted to €290.00. Many thanks to all who contributed so generously. History of Ardcath/Clonalvy parish: This publication will be launched on Sunday 4th September at 3.00pm. Further details later. Clonalvy Festival: A word of thanks to all who supported the various events which took place during Patron week in Clonalvy. Thanks also to Lorna McGuinness and John Andrews and the festival committee for all their work. Monies raised from the following events were as follows: Poker Classic €998 ( to cemetery fund), Sponsored cycle/ Bike run €1100 (to St Finian’s NS), Pet show €26. Parish Barbeque €1,180 (to Parish Development fund). Thanks to the Gogan family Ardcath for sponsoring the steaks for the barbeque and to Eddie Donnelly for providing the venue and the entertainment. St Vincent’s Juvenile Football Club started their nursery session for 4-6 year old children on the 4th of July in Masterson Park, Ardcath. This involves balance and co-ordination skills with fun games. Children must be accompanied by an adult at the session and parents are very welcome to become involved. St Vincent’s Juvenile Football Club are planning to start their nursery session for 4-6 year old children starting next Monday the 4th of July from 7.15pm to 7.45pm in Masterson Park, Ardcath. This will involve balance and co-ordination skills with fun games. Children must be accompanied by an adult at the session and parents are very welcome to become involved. Ardcath Macra na Feirme are hosting a Charity Cycle in aid of Ardcath Senior Citizens on the 8th of July. Leaving Bennetts Ardcath at 7pm. There will be three routes 20km, 40km, and 60km.
